Víte, jam můžeme díky pásu Oriona najít další hvězdy a souhvězdí?
Když prodloužíte pás Orionu doprava, uvidíte hvězdy ze souhvězdí Býka, které tvoří trojúhelník. Nejjasnější z nich je Aldebaran. Je to stálice a v souhvězdí Býka je jako oko. Součástí souhvězdí Býka je také otevřená hvězdokupa M 45 tvořená 6 hvězdami. Té říkáme Plejády nebo taky Kuřátka.
Co název Plejády znamená? V encyklopedii se dočteme, že pochází asi pochází ze starého Řecka a má původ v řeckém slovu pleione, to je matka. Ve starém Řecku také najdeme první zmínku o Plejádách. Je v Homérově Odysei z roku 750 př. n. l. Možná víte, že se v Japonsku říká Plejádám Subaru a podle toho se jmenuje i jejich automobilka. Plejády obsahují desítky hvězd a jsou někdy vnímány jako samostatné souhvězdí.
Nakonec dnes díky pásu Oriona objevíme i nejjasnější hvězdu na obloze. Září jak diamant. Je to dvojhvězda Sírius. Uvidíte ji, když prodloužíte Orionův pás na opačnou stranu – doleva. Právě tam je hvězda Sirius v souhvězdí Velkého psa. Najdete ji?
